I would not recommend having a dealer install this system although they could since it is "simply a bolt on system". My guess would be that any good muffler/exhaust shop could do the installation in less than one hour; most likely, their hourly shop rate would be less than any DC dealership.

I had my system installed at a professional muffler/exhaust/brake shop and it required a good hour shop time because I needed the BTG axle-back exhaust system cut off from my car with a torch (in such a way that it could be reinstalled on another PT Cruiser). Also, I had some welding done on the new Mopar duals in addition to using the hangers/bolts that came with the system. This system is all stainless-steel and will last the life of the car so I figured that I wanted the job done "just right"--and it was! [8D]

I had my local muffler shop install my Mopar Borla 2.5" exhaust on my 2004 DC; 30 minutes and your back on the road. They even spray painted the cross pipe with high temp black paint for me.

I also have a Mopar receiver hitch installed and there is no interference with either the exhaust or the spare tire. I had the Hidden Hitch brand receiver hitch on my 2002 DC along with Borla duals and had no problems there either, but I'd recommend the Mopar hitch for an easier install and better fit.

This sounded like a good idea so I recently painted my cross pipe with "High Heat" black paint so it would blend right in with the axle beam. It did the job nicely. [8D]

DITTO, Gary. I installed the Borla(Mopar) on Dreamer 2 shortly after I bought it. Have Bassanni duals on my '01; they are fine also, but the sound and look and easy install of the Borlas make them (to me) the only choice for the turbos.

[8)]Ive had MOPAR/BORLA duals om My Pt Touring for over 2years, great! I did have a muffler shop intall a custom magnaflow resonator under the car(where straight pipe is) Its also stainless so I have absolutely no drone! Its a nice rumble at idle. Its what Chrysler should install from factory! Mopar actually list a resonator on the European systems from Borla im told. [8)]

Anyone have any experience with Mopar-Borla dual exhaust on a PT GT turbo convertible? I'm considering installing on mine, but a bit concerned that they may be too loud for comfortable, everyday driving, top up or down.
Thanks, Midwstdr

IMHO it is about as quiet as any aftermarket catback setup can be. If this is too loud then stock is just right for you. [|)]
