Back in Feb.someone posted that
they had talked with a GT programer, but
I can't remenber who.If we could get the
guys name maybe he could shed some lite
on how to access the PCM to make the changes
that we would like? Or find a hacker to help?
I could put a bounty on the access code. what
do you think?

Does anyone know what the differences are between the Gt engine and the SRT-4? Are the SRT's having these problems? If they aren't can something from the SRT be installed on the GT? You guys are talking way above my head here. If anyone knows the answers to my questions I would appreciate it. Its no sense in me making anymore mods to my car until these issues are ironed out. Thanks, Phil

SNAP-ON HAS A SCAN TOOL CALLED
" VANTAGE "
THAT IS JUST LIKE A OSILISCOPE TO SHOW MULTIPLE SENSOR
READINGS AND YOU CAN EVEN FREEZE FRAME THEM TO REPLAY THEM WHILE SITTING ON YOUR COUCH FOR FUTHER STUDYING
I GOT A SNAP-ON SCANNER BUT IT WONT DO THE SAME THING WITH EACH SENSOR
I'M SURE IF YOU HIT UP A LOCAL ELECTRONICS GUY WITH A 12 PACK HE WOULD PROBLY BE JUST AS INTERESTED AS WE ARE IN FIGURING THIS PROB OUT

Here is an extremely interesting thread. It is about a transmission problem that kicked out a p1188 error on a stock turbo (read: no boost controller).

The response from DC and the service department is quite humorous (after you get past the sad/pathetic feeling it gives you in the pit of your stomach).

Shovel100,

Good info on the Snap-On Scan Tool. I am currently trying to get a response back from the OBD-2 website on their product that monitors the diagnostic connector and logs info. The software also allows you to set up a "virtual" dash with 6 virtual gauges from a fairly inclusive pick list. It will allow logging and replay of data, query of sensors, lookup of error codes and more than I can list here.

As soon as I get a reply back confirming the choice in connector cable to order, I will get it on the way. I had previously sent a query before going on vacation on May 10th, and sent another one yesterday (May 20th). As soon as I get the reply, I will order the interface to connect to the GT... Here is the link on the system I am looking at: http://www.obd-2.com/

I haven't found any additional info yet, either. Still no response to my email(s) asking for confirmation on the proper connector/protocol and about the 03 Turbo being supported. He may be on vacation, or not supporting the product as much as initially. I know how it gets when a passing hobby becomes a blow-out and you no longer have any interest. I hope this isn't the case with this product.

In the meantime, here is another similar outfit; though more expensive:

It was recommended by my cousin, who has both a PT GT and an 02 Subercharged Vette.

I will let you know if I get a response to my emails...

You guys make me not want to put the boost controler in. (Just kidding) I feel so stupid when I read all this. Got to get me a good engine man to do all this for me.
