Default Nitrous Express N-tercooler

Anybody heard anything about this kit? It's NOS but it sprays it into your intercooler. Doesn't seem like this could be a bad thing at all to me? We'd be providing our intercoolers an environment that isn't actually there.

there are a few types, one with a spray bar that just sprays *ON* your intercooler and will work off of C02 and one that sprays N20 *INTO* the IC.
Then you can also use propane injection (yes it works, i wont get into that but it *does* work and not only on diesle apps) and water injection *again i wont get into that here*
I've heard good things about the NX kit, but never used it myself.

ya at the LA auto show this booth had a water intercooler set up.. it was only $100 or something.. I almost got it but they were not selling the display ones.. I have seen a lot of people at the track do that back in the days with nos though..

The purpose it to get colder, more dense air into the engine, thus the name intercooler. Water injection is an old Air Force method of getting more horse power/thrust out of an aircraft engine(recip/jet) on take off. It was called a wet takeoff.

Here is a thought, next time you go to the track, get a small bock of dry ice and put it inside the airbox just before your run. Talk about a cool air intake.

In the old days, you could pack dry ice around the air filter on the carb and by the end of the race, the evidence was gone.

Aquamist(aquamist.co.uk) sells a high quality water injection setup. Most of the guys that use water injection that I have talked to have gone with Aquamist. One of the cool things is that you can go that the gas station, buy a gallon of windshield washer fluid for a buck and use that. Why would you want to run that? Read the contents: 49.5% water, 49.5% methanol, 1%dye. Yeah, dumping water into your engine might seem like a bad thing, but it really isnt. The water is injected as a fine mist into the intake. This mist vaporizes almost instantly, absorbing a lot of the heat. The methanol is even better for this.As you know lower temps=more power and the ability to run more boost. It is kind of like running a tank full of race gas every time. I have heard very good things about propane injection too, but I am not very familiar with it.
