Default old head from phila.

Hi I am 67 years old,and a chevy man. I have owned 14 supercharged chevys, the first in 1959. In the past i have said i will never buy achrysler or a car with blackwall tires and it must be a v8. Well i bought a 03 pt gt and is it fun. I have not driven my 871 supercharged monte carlo.(High 9.s in 1/4 mile since buying the pt. I took it to the 1/4 mile in Atco NJ. I ran 15.50 at 89.58 mph. I put a .025 hole in a tee fiting an put it in the orange waste gate line the pressure went from a max. of 10 to a max. of 12 but still droping to 7 before shifting but running 15.33 at 92.50.I put Borla dual tip exhaust the week before i ran it helped very little about .o5 in et and about .25 in mph. Does any body know where i can get a single gauge pod, also my boost drops off bad.

Hi, great to hear of another old gear head getting away from the old stuff and running awhile with these young bucks. Never thought I would see the day I'd be toolin' around in a 4 banger! Iron Duke maybe. SunPro makes a single pod for A pillars. J.C. Whitney carries them.

WELCOME! Just read up on the previous post's in this forum and you will find a ton of valuable info. From boost gauges to BOV. We've got some folks doing some heavy duty R&D in here. Also, check out the SRT-4 forums. Same power plant as us, just configuered a little(better) differentlyNJOY![8)]

Old head you sure you don't have a vacuum leak ? I've been running the hallman for a while and when I floor it it goes to 11-13 drops back to 10 a stays as long as I don't lift throttle . As a matter of fact the way I'm set up now I start boosting @ about 1/4 throttle . By the way I'm not a young-blood ,either ! I know Chipmunk (Matt) has the hallman and external BOV with autostick ,hopefully he'll lend some insight also !

I wanna play with the "old folks" too - as I am one. Sometime I think - gimme a small block and a four barrel carb any day.

Actually I too am intrigued by what can be done with turobed 4 bangers. And leaning toward being a computer geek the tuning aspect of these cars is fascinating. Too bad there's a bit more downside than frying a mother board if you goof though.

The LS1/LS6 has LSedit. The blue oval boys are close with stang tuning, and the p1188 thread here is way interesting as is this thread on the SRT forumm: http://www.srtforums.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3016

Old head,

Go check out my mod page, i have a fix there for you that will help you hold boost. Also, you have to install the T fitting correctly. Our engine is smart. If it sees the wrong amount of boost, i twill retard ignition if the boost controller is not installed correctly. You will make more TQ, but less HP.
