Has anybody installed dual cat back side pipes on their GT? That is the way i am leaning since i like the style the best, but was wondering about sound and performance. I thought these pipes from www.californiacruisers.com looked interesting. comments?

Just be aware it'll be for looks only . There's no way that setup will give any additional performance . You'd have some pretty healthy bends to get them hooked up . In addition to getting some kind of y-pipe to even make both sides functional.

Hopefully I will get a chance to go check out their shop this summer and see and hear a system in action before i make the investment. Here's a link to the install on the sidepipes. It looks pretty clean except i don't know if that is completely stock from the cat up.

I am interested in these: http://midwest.ptcruiserclub.org/PTM...tors_Pagx.html
Check this thread out: http://ptenthusiasts.org/PTForums/sh...threadid=33026 Have not heard back from Ricahrd yet on the 2.5" for turbo availability. While I liek the look of the sidewinders they are not heat shielded like the Trendsetters. PeTe

Looked at the installation link to see how they go on. I suspect that there will be performance issues with the exhaust hitting a brick wall (T Pipe) on the output side of the cat. There is no way to direct the flow either (like the angle differential on a "Y" pipe) to insure that you will get anywhere near even flow on both sides. For a NA car this would work OK, but I would be wary of using this on any kind of a turbo or even a supercharged engine. Thats my
2 cents. [8)] |

i'm actually in the process of completing a twin side pipe setup, and should be complete with in a week. Yes they are functional and therefore not "rice" supreme, and i'm using a "Y" pipe fitting after the cat. However, they aren't going to run the whole side of the car like the old vettes...i plan on molding the tips through the side skirts, similar to the new '04 viper. If i can get pics up when it's done i will.[?]
