Default Dual stage Boost control switch

Hello everyone,

My first post. Been doin' a lot of reading tho'. I like the idea of a dual stage boost control but I was wondering about the switch placement. Specifically, can I somehow adapt a switch to the throttle linkage so it would switch to higher boost at 3/4-full throttle? I was thinking of a momentary switch on or by the gas pedal. Anyone experimented with this yet? I was trying to get away from flipping a switch manually each time I wanted a little (a lot?) extra boost.

Welcome!
Ive got the dual stage..have the low stage set all the way down, the turbo spools up much quicker. I can switch to high (16psi peak, steady 14) very quickly, so im not sure another type of switch would be necessary. Does sound interesting though.

My switch is on the dash by the Trac. Easily reached. Ive also heard of someone mounting the switch backwards, so that its set to high when the switch cover is CLOSED - just flick it for more boost. (Normally OPEN for low boost.) That would be really fast...

BTW...There are electronic boost controllers would allow you to set the boost level at certain rpms...I beleive they start at around $300 and up..

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll go with the switch mounted pretty straight forward and once I'm comfy with that I'll start moving it to an alternate locations.

YOu will want to keep that switch close to you as possible. The purpose of that switch is so you can launch your car in low boost so you dont spin out like a mad man. Then you switch it to high boost when you dump it in 2nd.

Before I mounted the switch in the dash - I had it on an extra long wire so i could hold it in my hand (to test). That might be the quickest!!

I see what you mean....If I mash it on take off I'll just light the tires using the setup I'm thinking about, unless I ease into it. Nah, that would take too much discipline. How 'bout a switch mounted on the shifter (Autostick)? My dad has his switch on the shifter of his 350Z for his NO2. It's a momentary switch spring loaded to turn off once released(Looks like a hook on the side of his shifter) he pulls up on and releases after a run.

Some electronic spot make pressure sens switches you could install on the floor by the lazy foot(left). Pretty easy to install and not obvious for an onlooker.
