I agree with Cal Cruiser you're really taking a chance when mine started acting up I could actually smell the clutch burning . Others have just tried to push in clutch pedal and it won't disengage. I got mine to dealer as soon as possible. You ain't gonna baby it to make it work !

I'm convinced! Mine goes in on Friday.
Work done - doesn't seem to run any different. Only two GT's need to be recalled in San Diego.

My clutch locked up, and I was towed to dealer. works easier now, a little softer also. oh, the dealer while my car was in, upgraded my computer no charge.

What was the clutch problem that necessitated a recall?

There was a pin in the clutch assembly that would work its way loose and lodge between the pressure plate and the clutch and not let the clutch disengage. The clutch/pressure plate on the PT Cruiser is a one piece unit, not two separate pieces like on other cars.

A pin in either then clutch or pressure plate would work out and potentially lodge so clutch couldn't disengage.

Ah. If I got my 2003 last week, would that have been fixed while at dealer or on assembly?
