Old Head I re-read your original post . Why did you tee into the wastegate line ? Based on our phone conversation this is the only difference I see. Is that where you teed in the boost gage ? Perhaps that is causing the drop. I tapped my gage into the rear manifold hose others have used the hard plastic hose on top of the throttle body . Maybe try to plug you exiting hole in wastegate and t-into 1 of the other places I mentioned and retry the boost controller. Or try sans boost controller then with boost.

Flashbr2: What i meant,i hooked the guage right to the back of the manifold after removed the pvc line (temp.) I put the tee right at the waste gate with a .025 hole acting like a bleed.I got about 3# more.I just removed the fitting at the turbo that the tan line hooks to and found a restriction .097 in it.tomarrow i an puting 1/4 inch fiting with .187 hole in it and 1/4 inch hose on.keeping under 18 inches long.and test some more old head

When installing a boost controller, you want to hook it up as follows:

Remove the hose from the wastegate dashpot. Plug that hose up using a bic pen cap or what ever you can find. Take another hose, run it directly to the WG and into your boost controller. Take the pressure source off your brake booster hose or you can tap into the line comin goff the turbo. There are two lines coming off the turbo (besides the wg one). Use the one that sits higher up, NOT the lower one which connects to the stock boost controller solenoid. Beleive it or not, but there is a feedback circuit in the stock solenoid! It knows if you play with boost if you T off that line so make sure not to T off the lower line.

If you also want to hold boost to redline and want to also prevent oscillation of the boost, you can plug up the line that goes to the stock Surge valve. or place a check valve inline so it always has positive pressure in it. The stock surge valve works as a pop off valve. If it sees to much boost, it opens up. So this surge valve along with the stock solenoid, cause your boost readings to fluctuate.

The turbine housing on our turbos is pretty small. Thats what causes the turbo to spool up so quick and at times cause boost spike. Especially on a stick shift if you get on the gas in a low 2k RPM on the Tach.

Also, go to my srt/ gt cruiser section on my site and look up the E.D. Spring mod. It will help you hold boost up to redline.

Opps, almost forgot you must have a BOV if your going to put a check valve on the surge valve.

Ok, here is my fix.

When I first installed the Hallman, I installed a brass fitting with a small vent hole for the preasure to release after the controller had closed. This worked horibly! The entire presure was escaping thru this hole making too little presure to open the wastegate. That is the reason I ended up installing it just before the factory boost control solenoid like my original post (Final boost controller installation). I have not found any other way of installing this controller and make it operate correctly other than the one I posted. If you have a T-Fitting installed in this line, your presure will be way too low to operate the wastegate correctly.

I hope this works.

Ian

Well i tryed the short hoses,i ran direct,i did not use any stock hoses or the selnoid.I even remove the stock .097 fiting drilled to .125 . With 3 turns in on the Hallman controler i got 9# droping to 6,with 4 turns, got 14 surge,12 droping to 9 1/2 (best yet),5 turns 17 surge,15 droping to 11 1/2 (to much).I am going to try like Exaust Depot said "use other supply hose. I am taking my Monte Carlo to the drags tomorrow,it should turn 10 flat at 137 mph.I won't play with the pt. for a couple of days thanks for your help Old head
