In cold weather, if you own a PT turbo or Supercharged one, like I do, you may want to let the engine warm up to normal operating temperature before reving it. You said you waited 4-5 min. That should be enough time. But if it was freezing temp. outside you may want to let it reach normal engine temp before driving it. That's what I do. Although, here in Tx. it doesn't get that cold. And my PT is always in a garage. If this keeps hapening, you may just need a tune-up or some new spark plugs.

Yes there is a cut if you rev too high in park or neutral.

You don't say how many miles on the PT....
Plugs & wires cure lotsa ills...
Suggest Crane wires (RaceAndStreet.Com) and new plugs.
Since you have a turbo, it's easy (unless you have plastic intake)..

There is a rev limiter on your pt when its in park I'm not sure about netural.
I thinks its about 2500 rpm on stage 0 and maybe 3500 on stage 1 not sure.
