Have yet to see any problems with plug gap. I an running a screamin demon coil with livewire plug wires and champion platinum plugs gap'd at .64, been running this combo for at least 15K and have never had a glitch. Pulled the plugs after about 7K and they looked like brand new.

Make sure you carry the OEM coil around with you. Screamin Demon and MSD coils have been known to fail. Those of us running high hp in the PT GT's and SRT-4's run with the OEM coil. Stock one is more than adequate. Aftermarket coils do nothing for performance. They do look pretty though.

I dont think anyone will agree with me but my 2004 turbo came from the factory at .60 yes I checked them twice, so at 34,000 I decided to replace them and did as what was suggested .40 awful I put them at .60 and it ran great. so go figure...

Yup...Sometimes all of the suggestion from people only cause more problems...sometimes you should stick to what Chrysler says for the car...not a bunch of want to be tech.

The "sometimes" is not when dealing with performance. Most techs are useless when it comes to anything but the stock cars they work on. They know the book, they go by the book and unless they are savy and have dealt with performance modding they know nothing. When my '03 GT had a high rpm miss the dealer knew nothing about fixing it. "All GT's do that." I was told. At the time my GT was stock for heaven's sake. When my GT was modded and I took it in I had to explain what the mods did. Some of us "want to be techs" are in the 12's and 13's in the 1/4 so that isn't too shabby. I will agree that, at times, I see novice's give inaccurate info. As for the gentleman whose GT ran bad at .40 (I sure hope you meant .040) you are the very first one to complain about it. Running with plugs at .060 or .064 is larger than even factory stock specs. So what is the final determination on spark plug gapp-age. Everyone got sidetracked on this.........now I am interested in knowing.

The consensus - among GT owners - is 0.028 - 0.040 - gap usually increases over time...
If you're stock, I'd lean toward 0.040, but in that range.

.028 on iridiums. .038 - .044 on stock champions or NGK V-powers. Magnecor or Crane wires, stock coil. Unless you are rszappa, then run everything stock, because nothing could possibly improve performance, and if you think it does, you're an idiot....[xx(]

I had the high RPM misfire at about 5200. The NGK v plugs made a little difference, but the new Crane wires cleared it right up.

There's no real excuse for not changing wires.

yeah i had the same problem with my gt. when you are in the high rpm it fells like the car is getting a blowout in the spark plugs. i talk to the dealer about it wouldn't do anything about it. and now i am having problem with the lights flickering so finally i got them to change the PCM i got the problem with the high RPM figured out but the light thing is another issue for me now.
