I been jonesin' for a new exhaust and have been trying to hold out for the Borla for turbo system they are working on. But I have been browsing and noticed the Heartthrob system and was curious about it. I like the way the tips turn up at the ends and I noticed it is a 2.5" system. I live in CA so I guess the mild steel construction wouldn't be a big issue vs stainless. Do we have a Heartthrob contingent here that could give me some input after owning it? I am not looking for loud (or droney) just a mellow sound and of course maybe some extra HP. How was installation? Does it block the spare? For the price it looks like I could be an owner.

I almost bought the Heartthrob, saw one in Las Vegas, and went immeaiately for the BTG Stainless system.
Heartthrob has HUGE grey mild steel resonators(5"+) on each tip, then the 4" crome tip. I wanted to have some ground clearance. Those huge glass pack resonators looked unfinished and way too big to have on a lowered car. BTG did some tests on 2.5" systems; apparently you lose some bottom end power without replacing the turbo with a larger one. |
