Remove the two silencers from the airbox, replace the turbo to airbox hose and get a K&N drop in filter. This is what the serious gearheads do. The intake might look racey but it will suck in hot engine air and that's not a good thing.

if your car is the 2006 (like ours) the standard flat K&N filter will not fit. there is now a smaller airbox and K&N is not offering a filter for the 2006GT - as of last week. jump on your K&N dealer and try to add to the pressure, so K&N will move (in theory) faster. tom

Swap out the metal intake manifold for a plastic one if you don't already have one.

Borrowing this from Mean Green in another posting:
Just a little more sound and better air flow. You should replace the turbo to airbox pipe. It is very restrictive. I also cut the silencer attached to the snorkle flush with the inside of the airbox. A drop in K&N filter plus changing the turbo to airbox pipe and removing the other two silencers and it will be better than an intake.

That should answers most of your questions.
