Default Boost Controller Installed

I finally got my boost controller installed right. The diagram that I used showed the controller installed backwards. HA So now it works fine. I was boosting to 15psi. My engine light came on so I took it to the dealership and they told me that I had a bad Mass Airflow Sensor. Now I get to reinstall the BC and get a new MAS sensor. works for me!!

Since when is there a mass-airflow sensor in our cars? []

I can't believe you took it to your dealer after putting the boost on? didn't they say "later charlie, no more warranty for you" My dealer told me if I took out the air silencers I was VOID. (I did it anyway)

We do have a mass-airflow Sensor.

Is right in front of the Throttle body, almost permanently mounted on the black hose coming from the Intercooler. You will see a vacum line and a conector sticking out of it. That is the way the car know how much air is going into the engine. The other sensors on the manifold and throttle body are for air Presure . The computer takes this readings and makes the "Correct" fuel ratio, and later verified by the two Oxygen sensors on the exaust side.

I don't think so. A mass air system does not use a MAP sensor to my knowledge. We have a Speed Density FI system. The section of plastic before the TB houses the inlet air temp sensor and I believe that is where the MAP sensor is, it is not a MAF sensor. I will have to check the schematics again to be sure what is there or maybe someone can help me out.

Cal,

You are correct it is a MAP sensor, Not a MAF sensor.

I took it back to the dealership after I took the boost controller out.. I didn t leave it in. I was told that the engine light comes on if U boost over 14lbs. All I know is that I ll post my timeslip when I go. It felt sooooooooo strong after I turned the boost up to about 14.
