Default PT Cruiser Hits 100 MPH at the Dragstrip!

Saw that headline and story on the front page of this site...Sorry, you're the 6th documented PT to hit 100mph traps, not the first....

There is probably more than six, others we don't even know about. To think he is first is kinda funny. The GT has been out for three years.

A fair number of guys running in the 13s as well, even with very light mods, though with slightly lower trap speeds. Still, ET wins the race, not who has the highest trap.

The killers are the guys with the turbo upgrades running high 12s though - yipe!!

Congratulations to anyone running over 100mph in the 1/4 in a PT but this is not a unique achievement. Rare but not unique. This guy was not the first either.

The fastest PT with a stock internals is the AGP shop PT. They supposedly ran a 12.3 in the 1/4. Don't remember the MPH.

This summer I expect to see several low 12's at well over 110 mph.

If you guys read it again he says he 'Believes he is the first'. He obviously wasnt aware we were tracking numbers on the 'list'. Congrats on breaking the 100 mark at any rate.

Yeah, I don't think anyone's really ragging on the guy, it's just sort of a shame that such a big deal has been made about it when it's kind of old news. He's got a really cool looking car, that's for darn sure, and having a PT trap over 100mph is always bitchin', but a little research ought be done before shouting from the mountaintops, you know?

My favorite on the list is "Shelley" who managed 17.830 @ 77.52 with an NA and a slushbox.
