Over on the Corvette forum the guys are modding their Z06's and older Corvette's. But the forum has a rule about "kills" on the street. If you post it, they will delete it because they don't want to come off as condoning it. They've lost a number of forum members to street racing accidents, although I have to say some of the stories have been very interesting (until they were deleted).

Good closed course (drag strip) stories are welcome.

[8)]Yeah Mustangs are fun except the one I punched off against. I have a stage one 05 GT ragtop with some other mods also. As he blew by me I then noticed the little tag on his rear that read "roush". Guess you have to pick and choose the right stangs to tangle with.

Thanks for the info on the little street race. Though is dangerous we've almost all done it. Kept in perspective it's part of our facination with cars. One of the aspects of why we love them and upgrade is to increase our performance and not usually for safty but so we can be faster than the cocky driver next to us. With common sense and normal ol' good judgement, a little play here and there reminds us we are alive, free, and why we pay for 93octane.

This 62 year old's last car was a Buick. And the wife's last car was a Buick. Her's was an '86 Grand National that ran mid 12's. She traded it in two years ago (18 years old). Mine was a '70 GS 455, fully restored, that ran 12.09's all day long. I sold it three years ago.
