srt4 exhaust on...whew...lol

I finished installing the srt4 exhaust I bought off of bigtommy83, and it bolted right up and sounds great!

the cruiser seems to have way more power and the noise is nowhere near as loud as i thought it would be, especially since the cruiser has no resonators on the intermediate pipe, while the srt4 has 2.

now i need to get a stage 1...lol

Way more power? It's a 2 1/4" exhaust, the same as a stock GT, with no muffler and a couple of resonators. I'll bet it sounds nice. I liked the sound my SRT-4 made with the stock exhaust. But, way more power? [:I]

A louder exhaust, like most other mods, requires recalibrating your Butt-Dyno(tm).

If his experience is similar to ours was when replacing the stock GT muffler with a straight-through Supertrapp, it did spool a bit quicker.
That can fool a loosely calibrated butt dyno into thinking there is more power, when it's really the same power available over a wider RPM range.....

That could be true, less back pressure spooling is better which gives you the same power a little quicker. A 2 1/2" catback exhaust really helps spooling and if you want the best spooling go with a 3" o2 housing, 3" dp w/hiflow cat and a 2 1/2" catback exhaust. Really made a difference on my SRT-4. Some say a full 3" turboback exhaust is better but the dyno has shown no difference in hp with the system I have. I still think the new cool sound has something to do with it. When I had a '01 PT I installed an intake and with the new cool sound I thought the PT was faster. When the homemade intake broke and I went back to the OEM airbox I noticed the only difference there had been was the sound. It's all good though. He has a new cool sounding exhaust with pops and burgles that sounds great.

All I can tell you all for sure is that it sounds great! and honestly, it seems to have more get up and go... at least to me. I may install a resonator, since i believe the srt4 has 2, and the dreamer has none, so basically i am running a cat and pipes..

As long as you are happy that is all that matters. The SRT-4 does have 2 resonators. I think they are 12". On the Mopar exhaust for the SRT-4 there is one big one, 24", I think. With no resonator(s) it must be pretty loud.

We deliberately hung it low because of the xenon rear bumper that is in my garage awaiting paint.

nowhere near as loud as I thought, but still thinking about a resonator...
