AT Throttle Body in 5 Speed

Well, based on other postings & suggestions, I went ahead and purchased an Auto Trans throttle body & swapped my 5-speed's original for the supposedly larger AT throttle body. The first thing I noticed is that although the throttle butterfly in both is the same diameter, the orignal 5-speed TB "funnels" down a little bit just prior to the butterfly--probably a couple of milimeters worth of airflow lost . . .

Swapped the sensors from the old to the new & reinstalled; the whole process took probably 25 minutes and was one of the easiest things I've ever done. I even used a grinder to make the screws holding the buttlerfly on the throttle body shaft flush with the shaft in an effort to maximize airflow and minimize flow disruption.

The result? I'm not sure. There certainly isn't any huge noticeable change in any respect, which is good that I didn't lose driveability, but bad in that I'm not sure I gained any HP. Unfortunately, I don't have any dyno or track numbers from before to after for comparison, so I'm left with the seat of the pants. At best, it is strong on part throttle, but full throttle doesn't yield any 'butt-o-meter' difference.

Has anyone else tried it and shown any differences?
