Default pt tuning intake VS Ebay intake

Hey guys, ive been saving up the money lately for an intake, theres 3 different options that i have currently. There's a red powder coated intake on cruiserbits.com going for about $337. Pt tuning has one for under $300 , and the guy on ebay selling for $270.... which is the best way to go? im definatley doing the foglight to inner fender link. its just the intake itself thats the hold up now. Any info will be greatley appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

tuner, I also have one of Jim's intakes and am completely satisfied
with fit and performance. The other intakes differ from Jims due to the style of filter used. Jim's has an opening in the front end with an elbow and fitting so that it sits in the fender opening like the original. This way it can be piped for fresh air if you wish to do so. The others do not have any opening in the front. They can only draw air from the circumfrence of the filter while Jim's can draw both ways. Take your pick. At any rate either setup is a lot better than the stock one.

I have Jims intake and love it. I read from one of his posts that he may not be making any more after he sells his last two on E-Bay.

Just my Two Cents

Quite a leap (like Superman). The Ebay intake leaps from $150 to $270 in a single bound.

Hey, it's just a tube with flex connectors at each end and a $50 K&N cone.
Please forgive me, it also has some tubing to dump EGR gasses directly into the intake.

I am not trying to be negative, it's just that our improvement tips turn into products, which then turn into money making propositions, which then eventually find the MAXIMUM dollar ammount regular Joes are willing to pay for (in this case) an unquantified improvement.

Kirby, what difference does it make whether K&N made it or some little guy that's just trying to get ahead in life. That's what made this Country what it is today, people like Jim. I don't know the man personally, but I have to admire anyone that has an idea and has the tenacity to see it through.
Do you have one of Jim's setups yourself? If you do and are disatisfied with his product, I quarantee he will make good on it. That's the kind of guy he is. If you do not have one what's your gripe? The person that started this topic was looking for advice from people that purchased Jim's product. If you haven't then you
are not qualified to give a judgement on the topic. Just as I wouldn't be qualified to render my opinion on a K&N or anyone elses that I haven't first hand knowledge off.

kirby this answer to your question 150 to 270 the 150 was the air box only and id did very little for performance then i made the turbo up for 250. and that worked I also put in the forum how to make the intake and for your infomation the cost to make it is 235. because i must buy retail and then two hours of labor to make it, if you know what a AMX is (i have owned 397 of them) then you may understand that some of us are just do things for people that have a car because a car is not a thing that gets you from one place to another. the pt in some of our eyes is something we love we see one on the street we chase it down to see what they have done that maybe we can do. that is enough if anyone does not like the looks of my intake, then please don't buy it. as a real pt owner if any even you kirby have a question and i can help please let me know, i'm here, my kids who show me how to use the computer say i should pick another car and let you waller in your own pit. happy cruisin and have a nice 1/2 day.

pt tuner, mike, if you need more info on the intake and i can help let me know pt tuning has a very nice one, at a cost of 259.95 + shipping, not cold air but nice. moss has one on page 42 of cat.summer issue 3 - 0306 at a cost of 339.95 + shipping, you can call moss at 1 888 528 8528. with either of thesefilter systems, the duct work from next to the fog that i have done and shared with all, want do much good as the filter is too far away from the opening in the fenderwell. you could add a canaster from the fenderwell to ingulp the filter but don't close it up as then water (rain ) may be a problem any way any of you that may want another voice to be heard email me amx1397@aol.com
