Finally my Denso Iridium plugs arrived today. They weren't cheap at $11.99 each from www.sparkplugs.com, but I decided to give them a try.
I went with the ITV20, which is 2 heat ranges cooler than the stock Champion plug. If you want to stay at the factory heat range, the Denso plug is an ITV16. This picture shows the Champion and the Denso side by side: ![]() This picture shows the Champion electrode: ![]() This picture shows the Denso electrode: ![]() Note that the center electrode is extremely small, not much larger than a big needle. I'm going to gap them at .040" and install them in the morning. I'll let you know how they perform. |

Are you changing plugs at 10 or 15,000 mi like some have suggested?

***** UPDATE *****
The Denso Iridium plugs do NOT fit! [xx(]Compared to the stock or Double Platinum Champion plugs the Denso plugs are shorter between the hex body and the tapered seat. As you thread the plugs in, the hex body goes down into a recess in the head and the 5/8" socket can't stay in contact with the plug. There's not enough clearance between the hex body and the walls of the recess. At least that's the case with a Craftsman deep-well socket. It might work with a thin-wall socket, but I don't have one to try. Kirby - I have 2000 miles on my PT.
