Default Getting a Stage 1, worth it to get a BOV?

Hi guys,

Ordering a stage 1 with some wires and plugs. Just wondering if it's worth it to get the blow off vavle conversion kit, it's only $57 at haynes speedshop but would I see any HP gains with it? Thanks.

Yes, the HKS are SWEET. I had two on my TT300ZX, and let me tell ya`, running 18psi of boost with a pair of HKS GT2835 turbos those buggers would scare the bejeezus out of those poor college kids in their convertable jeeps

BOV`s don`t make any horsepower at all and they`re not supposed to. They`re even pretty pointless on an automatic equipped vehicle as they are designed to relieve boost pressure when the throttle plate slams shut during shifts. They`re a lot of fun as a tool to play with people, but beware of teenage wieners in honda civics wanting to race you when they hear it...

I believe that if you order a stage 1 right now, till september you get a BOV for free!
which is the route that I went..

I can't wait to startle people with my noise maker

They are fun but very little if any benefit, as you are already running a BOV (actually a bypass valve) that reroutes boost when the throttle closes back to the intake system. The Mopar unit just routes it to atmospher instead. So ultimately you can say that you are not routing boosted hot air back into the intake but that is negligable...I say get one anyhow, I enjoy mine when I get some self appointed speed monitor driving 10 MPH below the limit. I get into boost and make sure I blow off right as I go around him at his open window...childish maybe...fun definitely.

Do you get the BOV free if you buy throug Haynes or is is if you buy the S1 direct from a Chrysler dealer?
