A while back there was a lot of talk about what does our PT's weigh, well i went to the scale today, and my autostick GT with a 1/4 tank, with the R package,Borla dual exhaust weighed 3305 lbs. Also i sent back my Hallman boost control. It would not hold the boost up thru the RPM range any better then my .030 bleed hole in the orange hose....More info:why do some of you see more surge pressure then others, well i was using a gauge that i got from a freind that repairs AC. units,i held it in my hahd as i ran the car,i saw lots of surge and fast needle movement, but now i have a Autometer boost gauge on the pillar, the surge is not shown because the gauge is highly dampened to proteck it OLDHEAD

Ok, did I read that right, a .030 bleed hole holds boost?
I'm not a mechanic, can you tell me more about the bleed hole. (I can't believe I just said that lol). Do you just make a precise cut on a particular hose? ???? -Shane

I guess what I'm saying is, making a puncture/cut in a hose, is a HELL of a lot cheaper than buying boost controllers.

It is, but you can only make the hole bigger, you can't easily make it smaller again. Yes, you can buy a new hose and try again, but you could go through a lot of hose before you get it right

That's why guys that were and are into the old 2.2/2.5 turbos would use the cheap Grainger valves or those valves that they sell at pet stores to regulate airflow in fish tanks. They're adjustable.

Sorry to mislead you about the hole, what you can do is get 2 inches of 1/4 inch of tubing and hose drill a hole in the tube, connect to the orange hose at the waste gate.you can get the drills at the GRANGER CO. A .025 hole gives you 3# more,an .038 gives you 16# surge which drops to 9# right before the shift.( I test from 30 mph roll in drive)dont try what i did,a .067 hole,it's a wild ride at about 19#'s...by the way just because i am 67years old dont think i scared of my PT,cause my chev. goes 9 sec. in the 1/4 mile.By the way the fish tank valve is a good idea.OLDHEAD
