Hey guys and gals! New to the forum and I got some ???s. We have a new 06 cruiser and we've had some issues the dealer can't pinpoint. We bought it end of march, new and 3 weeks after we had it, it left us stranded 2hrs from home out in BFE. We had it towed to the closest dealer, (Taft, Ca. Pray you never breakdown and have to deal with that dealer!) They found a couple of faults, MAP sensor and TPS sensor fault. They cleared the faults, put 200 miles on it, ran all the gas out of it and gave it back, all in 1 day! Needless to say we were pretty $#*%. The ckeng light came on and vehicle had now power, surging/bucking, when this all happened. The latest problems are when starting it, it will crank and act like it catches to start, then die. When turning the steering wheel @ low speeds, worse @ full turn, it will almost stall out or it will stall. These items are intermittent. It spent to days at the dealer and of course they are unable to duplicate. Any help or thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!
Tye

Sounds like the dealer did nothing but cleared the codes, which you can do by disconnecting the battery! Something caused those error codes. The problems you mentioned were simular to what my car did, but it was the cam sensor. Have you turned the key off and on 3 times quickly (with out starting) to see if any codes are present? You don't know if the dealer unpluged the MAP sensor or TPS,and pluged them back in do you? I can't see them clearing codes without checking connections or function. Good luck!

They just zap them and put a couple hundred miles on the car and gave it back.

I don't know if you are still having problems or not but I just read your post. This sounds like it could be just a vacuum leak. If they R&R'd the TPS or AIB soleniod when they had it in they may not have tightened it back down. In any event I would get out my "high tech" vacumm leak detector (a couple feet of garden hose). One end to your ear and probe around the throttlebody areas, manifold and intake pipes listening for leaks with the other end. It might be a slight sound but it doesn't take much. Just a thought.

Still got problems! Got a new problem! While sitting @ a stop the idle drops and the thing wants to almost stall out, will run rough, then idle back up. No ckeng light. They filed a case with STAR and it's going in saturday to see if there are any flashes available. Car has 8k on it and we don't trust it to go out town.
