Bob,

Have him check the connector that the Cam Sensor plugs into to be sure that one of the contacts hasn't become "unseated" in the plastic shell and only making partial contact.

I chased a problem like this on a 93 Grand Cherokee, and the final solution was to make the connection of one of the wires outside of the shell; which had become deformed from heat damage and would not allow one of the wires to make good connection when the underhood temps were high (most of the year).

Just a thought..

well as of today ( wed) they said they spoke with chrysler this morning and chrysler said to replace the computer only problem 3-4 days to get the part and friday is a holiday , will keep everyone posted as it goes along
