what kind of oils are most people running on there turbos,I just got an 05 turbo and starting to fix up,I know it says 5-30 just wondering what brands are preferred out there

Anything 5w30 that's full synthetic. I use Mobil 1 and my wife uses Castrol Syntec.

Agree w/Mean Green. I get the 5-quart jugs of Mobil 1 at WalMart - perfect for a change and cheaper than 5 individual quarts.

if you're always in warm weather go with 10w30... if you're in all seasons get 5w30...
and they're right... go full synthetic: castrol syntec (especially the german stuff) and mobil 1 are good.

I use Mobil1 in all my cars and never have had a problem. You should use synthetic in any turbo because of heat and high reving.

k&n and mobil 1 are good filters...
i decided to go with a 0w-40 mobil 1 oil - i'm in a cold climate but produce quite a bit of heat...

Yup. I read a study where a guy bough all brands of oil filters, then cut them open to see how they were made. Compared the type and amount of filter medium, the construction of the bypass valve - cardboard!, plastic, and metal...
anyway, Mobil1 & K&N were the best. Fram "regular" were the worst. The Fram "extra guard" was not as bad. Purolator was a good filter at less cost than the Mobil 1 or K&N.
