You can always go with a cut out and keep the stock exhaust.

Hey, i am new here and i just had a quick question. i know this is a very old post, i want to remove the stock muffler on my turbo lite and go with just some piping for a nice look, but when i talked to my mechanic as well as a lot of other people around here in RI all of them say that YOU NEED BACK PRESSURE. what should i do. Ive read all over the place its a myth that u do need it, then i read that you don't need it, then u need it. what do u guys feel is true for back pressure. should i be worried about burning my valves. thanks again. oh ps its a 2005 pt cruiser auto turbo lite. thanks

The cat will give you all the backpressure you need... You dont even really need that(but less agressive driving will be deminished)... I hope you are only doing this for sound as the gain will be minimal.

yes its just for sound, i guess the best thing to do would be to get a A/F gauge to monitor the Fuel and make sure it doesn't run lean!, thanks again guys.

I very seldom installed a muffler on a street turbo setup , if anything a small glass pack at the rear of the car is all it requires..Turbo itself is good at smoothing out exhaust pulses.
