well as far as legal, my local mechanic told me that for the state of RI all that matters is the decibel and that it passes emissions. the muffler just deals with sounds, and the decibel is measured at 2000rpms and its not that loud, i am not sure what the rating is or what other states will go by, but i know that's how they do it here, i ve herd cars with mufflers that are louder then mine with out one lol. it would be a pain if they make me put a muffler on just to say i have a muffler lol

If you have to have one on your car just to say you have one, Id be a total A-hole and lop it off, straight pipe it out the back then just bolt it in alongside the tailpipe just hanging there doing nothing.

if there was somehow I could get and install a SRT rear section, then that would be enough to fool the inspectors. We have to have an inspection done on our cars every two years. It says that if the car came with a muffler, then it requires one for inspection. But, the SRT is factory piping, and I may be able to get around that. If I can find a rear section.
