Dreamin2,
Did you use the Volant airbox or not? You can modify and install the Volant intake two different ways: 1) Volant airbox + Volant filter + 4 1/2" to 3 1/2 " (outer diameter) adapter to the stock intake tube or 2) Volant "funnel" intake + Volant filter (it would mount over the fenderwell opening) to the stock intake tube. Maybe you did something different?? Personally, I will be using the Volant airbox. I am going to try and give it a go this weekend. If I can find my digital camera, I will take pics. Maybe Flashbk2 can give me a crash course in pic posting? Flashbk2, can you hear me? LOL Scott

"kgdptblue, you got a much better CAI with the BTG CAI because it is a turbo up CAI."
Mean Green, I think your right! but for sakigt's set up the arraid might be a better choice. This thing flies now! The sound takes a little getting used to but not in a bad way. I am wondering about the lag that is there now?.. could it be that it is caused by the increase in air and lack of fuel? the lag isn't huge bit seems a bit more than stock.

Thank's SakiGt never would known about it!
System now installed.. See second reply page two! . I jumped at the offer and mine is on order. This intake also fits the ram air hood. Nothing offered before this system, to me, could even be classified as a cold air induction unless the engine heat is sealed off. I think they are all hot air systems. I have been waiting for the Air Raid system to be available for the GT. I had thought I had all the mod's for my GT for a while, but for this price and a sealed system, I can't resist. Now the tubing from the parking light opening also makes sense. My 58 Jag had the air filter in the left front wheel well.Update: Within two hours I had an UPS number and system will arrive in two days. I checked eight hours later and the system has made two hubs and now on it's way to South Florida and will arrive tomorrow. The ram air intake from the PT's left front parking light uses 2 1/2 heater tubing you purchase at Pep Boys and run it behind the wheel well paneling (don't remove paneling, just enough to get tubing in) to the air hole for the factory air filter. Besure to punch several small holes to drain moisture accumulations. My Mercedes has a factory dual ram air system and it's intakes are directly in top front of the radiator but it's openings are four inch each. So this is a simliar method to get cooler air to intake. Happy boosting! |

I plan on waiting for K&N. Had their air injection in my '01 and I loved it.

Hi All,
I'm really quite new at this, so please be patient. After reading the thread and seeing a mention of "Parking Light Tubing" can anybody direct me to some instructions and a parts list? I have one of the Air Raid GT intakes on the way and I'd really like to go the whole 9 yards. |

You can put a catch can between the valve cover and the airbox to collect it if you want but this is really a normal occurance on most any car.
fifilund...I was doing the air routing a couple weeks ago and the space behind my wheel well panel was so small it just smashed the tubing pretty flat. Did you find the same? I was thinking of bringing a tube up in front of the trans in the engine compartment but I don't know how hot the trans gets there is I let the tubing lay on it. Still working on it.

The movement of the air through the sealed airbox creates a vacuum that actually sucks the oil from the intake. venting it to atmosphere through a small filter should come close to eliminating oil loss. |

...and not pass smog if that is a concern. You can't vent to external.
