tthrift...I have to bring it up but does this carry the same caveat about the warranty issue?

i just placed 10 of the Mopar BOV's on order today, if anyone is looking for one please email me.

they will be 57.00 plus shipping

thanks tommy
Just wondering if the BOV actually does anything useful on unmodified stock turbo? I'm sure that it is helpful if the system is optimised to keep boost up, but the turbo has such a short cycle in the stock engine, would it really have much effect other than making noise?

Hey Cal, I think you know the answer to your question.

The fact is, Mopar Performance, and even before that as Direct Connection, has *never* warranted any performance parts. It's not unique. Try asking your local Goodyear dealer what the mileage warranty is on a set of Gatorbacks........there isn't one!

I think TripleJackInGA is right, we are pretty much on our own until such time the rules change to become more inclusive. You and I may see a fantastically large market that can be accessed with the addition of a little support, but that may not be what DC wants.

Truthfully, as of now, any parts manifacturer is the same as Mopar Performance - minus the sticker! If they are happy with selling less than 50 units nationwide and they think that gives them the illusion of edginess, then that is probably what they will do. This is why I don't get all excited when they release only one S1 kit to one of the VPs kids. No commitment is just that, no commitment!

I greatly hope that young and agressive people like UniqTwin will succeed in opening some eyes to the greater world, but for now the story is: do it if you feel the risk is worth it and be a man about the consequences.

Really apples and oranges here. Tires are a wear item and are noted as such. I don't mind going through sets of tires, brakes, etc. I am just not willing to throw away a $25000 car. If DC want to feed at the current performance market trough, they will need to step up like other manufacturers. I have already decided that I will not feed at the DC trough again unless they open their eyes...to much hassle.

My point was that while you can and do geta mileage warranty onnon-performance tires, you cannot get one on high-performance tires. It's an industry standard not to warranty parts that are intended for high-performance use.

20 HP = High Performance? Look around. Most manufacturers that offer "High Perfromance" aftermarket tuner stuff will warranty their stuff. TRD, FFRP, Chevrolet, MBZ, Mini to name but a few. This is the state of the 21st century performance tuner market. If THEY want to play (in this market) , THEY need to pay.

Does anyone know the part number for the Mopar BOV Conversion Kit for the GT?

I think it is part number P4510548, but would like to confirm that as the correct part number for the PT Cruiser GT.

Why? I spent 15 years in the industry, primarily working with dealership backend warranty claims. What's to learn when it is done by many other manufacturers. Mopar is stuck in the 60's. They keep pointing to the "glory days". It's sad when a company gets passed by. They are like a bunch of guys with beer guts sitting around the bar talking about that touchdown they scored in high school that won the big game. That game ended years ago though.
