Not too shabby .... where did you get the pillar mod? And, if you don't mind me asking, how much? Is it difficult to install? And who makes good gauges?

Oh ... and is the Air Raid better than the BTG Cold Air Induction? I would assume so .. because there is a "true" heat blocking box? Yes?

http://www.ptdoityourself.net/ptairaidguide.html Pictures 9 & 10 click on it. Peal off decals and paint Airaid the color of your car before installing. Reinstall decals, extras included Use stock fender silencer tube but plug up holes with black silicon. Smooth silicon. I cut off about three inches inside box. Cut hood trim shown in pictures 9 & 10. I picked up two pounds of boost (15.5) with Airaid. I had no problem closing hood after install but becareful the stock airbox is installed right and sealed in grommets. GT thinks it's a viper. Have 2 1/2 dual s and airaid is what GT was crying for!

1) Ordered pillar from local speed shop b/f gets discount from.
2) Im not sure about comparing the intakes as this is my first PT and the darn thing isnt even in there correctly yet. it is still pulling hot air fromthe bottom. For my purpose, with a ram air hood, I would say yes.
3) Imagestation is a great site. I get NO spam from it or by other companies. Its very hard to get through these forums w/o signing up.
4) I disconnected the computer so the engine could relearn and actually put the mod to good use. You are supposed to do this with every power upgrade.

Why do you have to disconnect the computer[:I].
I think the best person to answer this one is Dalite, But I will give it a shot.

When you reset the computer and reconnect it, it goes into a learning
mode. and will set up to the factory parameters making more effective the mods. The catch if you do it like in the pictures instead of removing the negative cable is that there is an order to disconnect/reconnect them. For disconnecting you have to go from left to right. To reconnect you have to go from right to left or the computer may throw codes.

I noticed this when I installed the BTG exhaust. The car with the factory muffler made 14 PSI and then drop to 12 PSI. When the exhaust was replace by the BTG, The boost went to 12 PSI and then dropped to 10 or 9 PSI and the car felt slower... I went ahead and removed the negative cable from the batery for a few minutes and when reconnected, it was a road rocket!!! after that I connected the A'PEXi and it was amazing!!!. 14.01 at the strip!!!

Maybe it was a SNAFU and maybe you don't have to reset the computer but for me, it worked!

Ian

So will disconnecting the negative on the battery achieve the same resetting of the computer that disconnecting the ECU would? I'd think that would be easier then.

Please tell me if I'm missing something...
