This reminded me of my old missile working days with the USAF.

I used to connect some parts to another (They are still secret) and the manual said:
Torque to 100 PSI +/-1, hit the coupler ring 6 times, retorque to 100 PSI +/-1 and repeat unti it retains the torque....
I loved it, hitting a real explosive missile with a hammer...[?]

Not just missles...aircraft TOs call for the same thing on engine clamps....

Get yourself one of the simple click type torque wrenches, they are extremely easy to use and are pretty accurate.

Plugs too loose = blowby that could etch the plug hole.
Plugs too tight = weakened threads, eventually stripped

Check the plug manifacturer on their washer, sometimes the crush washer instructions say 1/4 turn after solid cintact...

Remember to use plug grease(dielectric compound) on the threads.

Better safe than sorry, and this one has no downside!

Dielectric grease goes on the spark plug boot end to aid in plug wire removal.
Spark plug anti-sieze should be used on the threads.
13ft/lbs is the spec with an uncrushed washer.
