Just bought a 03 pt gt BOV question....

I just got me a 03 pt gt. I found this bov conversion kit on ebay, do you think it would be as good as the mopar performance one?

No strong woosh sound with the auto tranny. You'd hear that sound with a manual equipped car. Don't fret though, as you don't need it. There aren't any performance gains at all. Just a noise maker. Not even a real bov. Even the Mopar one isn't a real bov. You don't need a real bov until you plan to up the boost to 20+ psi.

The stock GT has a surge valve. The best and cheapest performance mod you can get right now is the Diablsport Predator. http://http://www.diablosport.com/in...isplay&pid=144

Cheaper and more power than Mopar's Stage 1, especially for an '03 GT. What's great is as you add power mods you can get a canned tune specifically for the power mods you have.

the predetor is the way to go. it'll turn off the CEL for the cat if you do a cat delete in the event you go with a 3in dp and 3in O2.

but if the cars completely stock what you can do is remove some pices out of the factory airbox. thats a free mod.

oh that plate you found works just as good as the mopar one.
i use to have that one untill i bought my S1 which came with a mopar plate and there was no difference in both. i changed it just because it was blue.

i drove a 05 Gt vert autostick with a BOV....I found that it was onlly good for one thing...annoying me constantly with a annoying Hissssssssssing sound..hated it

i just installed the same "bov" conversion kit as on ebay and diddent feel any gains from it just a noise maker like mean green said.. but the looks on other people faces when i let off the gas to shift gears is priceless! ha!

Those are a waist of $ .... like others have said you can hear the sound more but it not a BOV... Blitz, HKS..ect... go on your turbo piping.. this will help your turbo keep spinning when you shift gears..

If I didn't want only MP parts on my car then I'd have gone with the aftermarket BOV modification. All it is is aluminum with some holes drilled in it lol... And as it was stated, no real performance mods, but a head turner, yes!
