It is all in the usage...
Don't turn it on untill you have started to move. The incoming air will push it inside the cooler and I am sure It will evaporate before it reaches the track.

Just Two cwnts.

Chipmunk,
Your local track will likely have a fit if they see you spraying water on their track! The fast cars with slicks REALLY don't like water under their tires except in the burnout area behind the starting line. A 12 second car that hits water in 2nd or 3rd gear could likely hit the guard rail! Please be sensible with your creation. I think it's a great move, by the way! Just not for the drag strip.

Yeah I know, Im Changing the sprayers to the Misting kind. This will solve that problem.

Well here are the updated pics with the Misting Nozzles I picked up today at Home Depot. It really works well now.

Nice job Matt, gotta figure out where to mount res on mine ....the shift linkage is where you mounted yours on the 5-speed . I think I could mount the nozzles on my lower grill behind the plate on my crusher but finding a spot for res maybe issue . How are you activating ? Small switch inside car?

It would work nicely, if you could install a Micro Switch to the Throttle Butterfly, it would turn on automatictly when you are at wide Open throttle.

This would make it a turn on, and forget item. Water would only come out only when you fully accelerate.

Yeah I got a switch inside. Nothing Special. Or you can buy a "Intelligent Intercooler Water Spray Controller Module" from http://www.autospeed.com

As far as mounting the Resevoir I would also suggest where the Tire jack is in back. I think I may move mine back there as well, no heat back there to warm the water and you can fit a bigger tank there as well. Currently my transformer for my Underbody neons sits back there with the wires coming up through 2 holes at the bottom.

Try using alcohol instead. It vaporises quicker which means it cools faster. Nice setup!

That was my thought exactly, I used to put alky and ice in my fuel cooler on my old race jeep.
