From the sounds I'm hearing, I think I have an exhaust leak. The dealer and an independent shop have failed to help with the noise but have found $800.00 of other legit stuff that needed to be fixed. So I'm out $800.00 and still have (I think) an exhaust problem.
Here's the question: If I hold a shop rag against the exhaust pipe when the engine is running, should that back pressure cause the engine to stall and die? On my car, nothing happens if I block the exhaust pipe for 15 seconds. Does that indicate that I have a leak in the exhaust system somewhere? Thanks! Bill
