Alan, where did you mount your GReddy catch can?

Mean Green, I got the greedy catch can from Hector @ exhaust depot. BTW, as far as the warning on the filter goes, at the pressures that it will see in this application, there is no real issue about the integrity of the canister. It was made to withstand upwards od 150-175 lbs air pressure. Now if you tried to use it in an application with oil vapor and a high pressure, there would be a concern but not as a catch can.

It's probably true that while in boost situations the oil isn't an issue. However, you operate out of boost about 90% of the time while driving in traffic, stop signs, etc. I would guess that it is more prevelent at those times.

Gear Head, I got my GReddy catch can from Hector, too. Where did you mount it in the engine compartment? I mounted mine on the driver's side on the strut housing to the left of the air hole in the fenderwell. It was the best place I could see. Did you find a better place?

Mean Green, I mounted the catch can on the firewall next to the radiator overflow tank. It is right next to the Intake manifold in order to keep the hoses a short as possible (not that that is important from a functional point of view). There is enough hoses in the engine compartment to stock a rubber plant and it is extrenely difficult to keep the neat. I ordered a mounting bracket from Greddys web site. If you look at the top of the pic above the catch can you'll see where I need to touch up the black paint on the bracket. I drilled a hole in the firewall and used 1/4x20x1 1/4 bolt and nut to create a stationary stud. mounted the bracket with 2 flat washers, 1 lock washer and 1 1/4x20 nut. This way I can remove the catch can without reinventing the wheel each time as the stud stays attached to the firewall with the original nut and lock washer. Its difficult to see the mounting stud in the picture, but i tool off the cover over the washer fluid bottle to get access to the head of the bolt when creating the stationary stud, I'll post a few pics below:

Thanks Gear Head. I like where you put yours. Did you freak that you might hit wiring or something when you drilled the hole through the firewall? It looks really good there. Here's my location:

Gear Head - Just noticed your spark Plug wires (GREAT) who makes them... have any problems with installing them...

They are magnecore 10mm racing wires purchased from Revel enterprises http://www.revelenterprises.com/pt_cruiser.htm , They were easy to install. Installed them at the same time as the screamin demon high output coil, and the Champion single platinum (#3032) plugs. The plugs are 1 heat reang colder than stock and gapped @.042 in order to discourage any detonation. I have found this ignition setup to work extremely well.

Mean Green, there was no issues about wiring, if you remove the Black cover (cowl) over the washer fluid bottle you have access behind the top of the firewall. BTW the catch can looks good where you have it too. And you have an added benefit. That is yours is easier to drain than mine is. After installing the strut tower brace it became more attractive to drain mine fron underneath the car.
