Default Oil Dipstick Difference When Changing from Aluminum to Composite Manifold

Hi. I have the composite manifold and want to install it on my 2003 PT Cruiser turbo and I've read about the dipstick differences. What exactly is the difference or what does the newer dipstick that will fit with the composite manifold look like? Is the newer one longer? Or what? Thanks for any input.

From my understanding, it isn't the dipstick, but the support for the dipstick tube. Mine came with the plastic manifold.
Take a good look at the tube and you ought to be able to figure it out. If not, post on PTCREW - lots of members there swapped from aluminum to plastic on their turbos.

The little bracket on the tube itself does not line up with the threaded hole for the screw on the plastic manifold if you are trying to use the one from your metal manifold. Easy fix, just get a little "L" bracket or a couple different sizes and a little nut/bolt and make it work.

Or you walk on to any dealership and swipe the VIN off a new turbo and order a dipstick tube for that car.

Its not a big deal either way you are out $5 dollars in parts either way.

Thanks, I'll look into going to my local Chrysler dealer and see about ordering an updated dipstick tube. I wanted to make sure I had everything before I tore it apart. Thanks again for the help.
