Unhappy Turbo not working

Am new here, so I hope I describe all this satisfactorily.

I have a 05 GT with about 65,000 miles. I cheked for error codes and it just says "done".

my turbo does not seem to be kicking in at all. When I step on it, the engine revs high, but there is no real power. At lower RPM the power seems about normal. But higher it seems like the engine is straining. I have no mods other than a KNN filter.

Any advice?

Welcome.
Noise different than usual?
Check all the air hoses - to/from the intercooler - bet one slipped off...

Checked the hoses and all seem OK. All are attached and I can't see any cracks

OK I am an idiot. Now that I am actually listening for the "whine" that the turbo used to produce, it is not there. So I am guessing the turbo went out completely? Without sounding completely stupid, is there a way to "reset" the turbo, or a fuse that could go out.

Thanks again for the help. I am not really mechanically inclined.

Turbo spools boost at about 2500 rpm.. An auto though in park will not allow reves above 3000..

Not a stupid question, at all.. Nope its all mechanical.

Turbo is powered by exhaust gas, which turns the tubine which takes force fed fresh air compresses it, spits through the intercooler(rad for air) cools it down then shoves it into the motor = power and lots of it.

I would wonder if you don't have a monster boost leak.... They don't need to be cracked hose to produce really limp boost numbers.. The rubber pipes over time get brittle and worm gear clamps eat into the rubber and the vibration over time can wiggle them off just enough that boost slips through like hurricane katrina - producing a really wimpy turbo..

double check the turbo connection from the airbox to the turbo itself and the lower intercooler pipe just front of the drivers side tire. These are two hardest to see and get to places - neglected and overlooked and harder to get nice n' tight.

Too bad you don't have a boost gauge(hate that chrysler didn't install one) so we could see if you are boosting what you should or if its falling flat on its face or just never boosting enough or at all..

You can't look at the hoses and tell if they are leaking or not. You need to zip tie all vacuum hoses and use t bolt clamps on the intercooler hoses. Turbo cars are famous for boost leaks, even straight from the factory.
