Default SOS, HELP, BOV Question

Hey after doing this and re-reading the directions it does not mention pulling that rubber, spring gizmo, with white plunger that was stiking out after removing the three bolts and the alum cover with vac line. Did I mess up? I just thought that is what the BOV plate is taking the place of. Or does that rubber, sping gizmo go between that alum. cover and the BOV?

Just new to a Tubo period, and dont want to mess up. Realized I should ask, befor running it long, as all I did was around the block at this point.

Well Punch I wish I knew as it would have saved me those 3 dreded bolts again. No worries, it is done and it is right now.
