Even if the Net result isn't horsepower gains, on a lot of other applications it does help with turbo-spool up, and plus it just sounds plain cool.

on my old truck with a k&N and dynomax single exit exhaust I gained 15hp on a V6.

I also would think that the K&N system might actually be quieter than the BTG. The BTG being a metal tube which could resonate, and the K&N's tube being some sort of plastic (hopefully high temp resistant). I'll know soon enough how loud it may be, and I'll post the results. I can't compare it to the BTG though since I've never heard one.
