I can tell you that I have seen diferences in Dyno runs from exhaust systems and air intake systems (but not cold air packages)on mustangs for the last 10 years. Can't say about my PT GT cause i havent seen any runs yet!

SteelBlueGT...I agree with you that Mustangs respond well to exhaust system mods but were you able to duplicate the dyno results the manufacturer used for marketing. I found that typical improvement ran closer to half the suggested.
Mustangs have probably one of the finest exhaust notes in the perfomance arena.
The car enthusiast I run with all have 11 second or faster cars and we would still like to have that Mustang exhaust note. Oh well...cant have it all.[^]

I pulled both of mine before I had the stage 1 and I even ran the K&N with the silencers in. I got better runing engine with more power. I say pull them. I Can hardly tell anymore noise. I would also like to replace the big one from the air cleaner to the turbo which is really large and restrictive but Have not figured out a way so I can put it back stock for the dealer. I do have half of the weather striping off on the back of the hood area that seems to give more air flow through the engine compartment. I too did wonder about if better drawing air out of the fender hole but I think with this setup Im getting alot of less restriction and cool air. Any way bottom line - it performs alot better with both out and the weather strip removed. It is not loud at all and I can still put it back all stock if I want to take it back in for warranty work. All I have done you can try and still put it back to stock and not really modify anything that the dealer could get fussy about. I have a fussy dealer so I deal with another for my changes that I install my self. Good luck Flash

Kirby,
Your original comment was inflamatory and provokative.
3bar's answer was polite and thorough.
Please don't scare off good resources. Thanks.

Adman, You are right if they said 12 hp gain I would get about half or a quarter of that at the rear wheels. And and this is even bigger, you could not count on adding up all the results. So taking out the silencers and adding a K&N did not net 5 plus 12 more ponies but more like a total of 9 or so! Same thing with headers and exhaust mods.

Provocative, yes. I wanted a straight answer, and he gave it.
Inflamatory, no. I gave some admiration for his courage, if that's inflamatory well....[:X]

Lastly, ask 3bar if he is scared. I seriously doubt it![?]
