Default Phantom Boost Gauge

I recently bought a Autometer Phantom Boost Gauge. I have researched posts on here about installation. I hooked the nylon tube up to a T that is between the 3/8 black hose that's above the turbo that goes to the back of the intake manifold. After every thing was hooked up I took it for a spin. I noticed that it does not read any thing until I really put my foot down on the gas and then only reads max 5 to 7 boost. Is this a normal reading and should I be getting some kind of reading between shifts and at normal speeds?

Thanks for any help.

There is no hose from the tb to the manifold.

Does your guage read boost/vac?

Do you have any mods? (stock psi =10 depending on temp of air)

Reread it, that selanoid does not show vacuum. Unless you are over 2800rpm and past 3/4 throttle you will stay in vaccum. Again 10psi is stock. Drill the intake or t the brake boost line or t the line ontop of the tb to get a better reading

I got the vac/boost phantom gauge and t'ed into the host coming off the top of the TB. Much better reading. I also have a mechanical oil pressure gauge and got a propods dual a-pillar pod....have to paint it gray though to match the interior. Will post pictures when all said and done.

I have a question about the oil pressure hook up. I got the oil filter adapter plate from Glowshift. So all I have to do is hook up the adapter plate then plug up the hose directly to one of the threaded ports? Does a mechanical oil pressure gauge require a sending unit of some kind? Also, i'm worried about the nylon tubing that came with the meter so I'm going to go with the 6 ft. braided hose kit.

personally i'd never run a mech oil line. that line fails, you got a fire hazard. and burn issues if it fails inside the car.
