Default Non-Stock Modifications

I am all for modifying the PT, it is so changable and responds to almost everything you do to it.
I just want to add a cautionary note to the NEW OWNERS. Chrysler, in it's warranty, has reserved the right to make your warranty null and void if they (or the dealership)think that ANY modification you made was a causative factor IN ANY DISPUTE. They are the judge.

(I was once denied warranty coverage for "witholding information" when they could not find the problem and I went out and pointed directly at the broken piece when I picked it up.)[:I]

I am NOT saying that ANYTHING bad will happen if you modify. Just don't believe everything you read on this site especially about ignoring the written statements of warranty cancellation and no warranty parts.

What i am saying to the newer owners is:

MAKE THOSE CHOICES WITH OPEN EYES,
KNOW THAT YOU ARE TAKING CHANCES,
DON'T BE SUPRISED IF YOU ARE THE ONE THAT HAS TO PAY THE PIPER![?]

Kirby - You ran out of opportunities to beat this dead horse on other threads so you created a whole new one? You seem like a nice guy, but sometimes you remind me of some Democrats that always try and say that the Republicans are gonna take away Grandma's Medicare and kick her down the stairs.

:P

Kirby, some [u]good advice</u> for both the "newbies" and the "old-timers" as well, which IMHO, cannot be overstated.

Triple,
I mention this only because it isn't old news to the NEW OWNERS. We have people with a vested interest in selling unwarranted parts that potentially could affect warranty, speaking as if they were just your neighbor.
Are you familiar with the carnival shell game where the SHILL comes up and magically is a winner every time, only to draw in the unsuspecting rube with the expressed purpose of taking his money?

The old hat members ARE tired of this, me too, but I get started again when Chrysler dealers or DCX employees post on this site with the "don't worry" scenario when each and every time the warranty issue is spun as "an old and tired thing" or gets brushed off as "unimportant".

The information and emphasis is important when the NEW buyers, by sheer volume of postings begin to believe that the written notices of "TOTALLY WITHOUT WARRANTY" are just a legalese piece of wrapping garbage.

I do vote Republican when I can trust the guy...as far as Medicare is concerned, you and I will probably have to move to Iraq to ever see any benefits!

I understand that, I I wasn't saying anything about your political leanings, but anyone that has ever owned a new car and has had intentions of modifying it has at least heard of intimidation like this, if not experienced it themselves. The fact is, it's illegal, and they can't do that, but most people don't know they can't, so they believe it.
Whatever floats your boat though.

This is why i am scared to take my car into service about the steering wheel noises. Since i installed the turbo timer, i am afraid that they will say that it is making those noises because of the turbo timer, and that it is my fault. Ahould i be worried about this?

A turbo timer is an item to promote engine/turbo longevity. How could it add stress?
You should call a couple of dealers service departments and talk with them (without commiting yourself) you will probably know right away if they are going to trash you or take care of you.

I wouldn't go to the dealer with a Stage 1 plaque on the back of my turbo
I hate having to go there. There really is no reason for routine maintenance, other than for a major issue.
