I hate to throw another opinion at you .... but I have the AiRaid and I have absolutely no problems with it. It was an easy install, maybe some 15 mins (just to read everything etc.) But the best thing, I believe, is that (aside from the good looks) it's more a throaty deep sound, if anything, than a loud sound. I have buddies with other intakes (on jap cars) and they are an annoying loud sound. Not this one, though.

I also have the Airaide. I dont believe that there is any performance improvement from using it. However it is not loud at all. The Airaide seals to the lower part of the intake box and to the inside of the hood when closed. The idea is to pull cold air from outside the engine compartment. I have swapped back and forth from the stock box with the silencer removed to the Airaide numerous times. No appreciable increase in noise and NO improvement in times at the track. JMHO
