Okay - I'm finally ready to leap - which airbox/filter is better- AirRaid or the BTG unit? The BTG is $100 more from PT Tuning - worth it?
thanks, tezz |

Ive had the BTG on my turbo for 2 months now. Love it. I did have to make a small stand for it to set on. It would keep coming loose at the clamps. Since I put the stand under it no more problems. If you choose this one I think you will like it. It does create a little more sound under the hood. Good Luck.

I read somewhere recently on this forum that one person removed the BTG performance cold-air intake because it was "just too loud" so I am thinking of waiting until the new K & N Typhoon unit comes to market in November to see how the reviews are before making a decision as to whether or not to install one on my GT. Also, I've read that the stock air-box works better with the Stage 1 Turbo Upgrade if you are planning to go this route.

thanks, guys...
Stage 1 isn't really an option until/unless they get the CARB certs - but sound is. I don't mind SOME turbo 'whoosh' but I don't want obnoxious. The AirRaid looks like it would seal up better - haven't heard about the K&N Typhoon - is it going in the existing box or replacing?

Look at this:

Which silencer did you remove and did you notice any difference in sound and performance? |

The white one. Yes, it sounds different. As far as performance goes, I can't say for sure. Mario is not my middle name. I can tell you that my GT has MORE THAN ENOUGH power for me. I'm not like all those guys that race their cars. I just enjoy the drive.
