RODRUN we are all here to learn from each other and if some one does not want to try something that is upthat person. there are no wars just commits and questions, some time when you find something good and want to share, you (myself) may think it is great and others may not and that's ok. we are here to learn. This is my first turbo and boy am i learning , I want to thank all of you for your information , I did drag race for years and hold the national record in 1969, in a 1968 AMX in F/stock at 12.22 at 109mph, If i knew in 1969 what you PEOPLE have taught me about a turbo, I would have never lost a race.
thanks again and keep up the with all your input we all need it. The PT Cruiser is one of the best things to happen to all of us, ifyou love cars,(chev owners don't as i have been shunned at 5 carshows by chev owners becaust i brought that PT Cruiser to there OPEN show) and all I said was ON A QUITE YOU CAN HERE A CHEV.RUSTING. Hhappy Cruisin this is my first Chrysler! and that's the way it is.

Back to the subject of p1188 the mod stops the computer from getting a signal telling the eng it is in over boost so the more air you give it the more fuel it gives you. up to a point. I would like to try this mod with an air/fuel guage to make sure we are not running lean, if some one could do that.so far i have run full throdle at 18 lbs of boost with no p1188 and the car has given no problem.I don't see it helping in stock form. but you can try it.as far as adding a boost controler with stage 1, I don't know maybe some has both and can tell us.

PT DAVE is running all the above. He told me that the car seemed to run better on stage 1 without the MBC. He will see this and respond.
OH Dave... Lets hear about the air fuel mix.

Well I tried amx1397's little mod and yep it sure does work. Removed the little hose, plugged the hole and ran a full tank of ripping fun. You really feel it when your already rolling at a green light and then floor it, the acceleration is smile bending. The other day I was rolling out of work making a left, saw a bunch of cars rolling my way so I puched it, man my tires were just screeching down the street. Never had that happen before so I'll give my thumbs up. Although I did notice that my milage was cut considerably, but if your up for a weekend of extra boost, try it you'll like it[8)]

I havent hooked up my A/F guage yet (silly O2 sensor) but when I get my exhaust installed in the next few months, Id be very happy to pull off the hose and give some A/F stats.
Pulling off the sensor that's telling you you're doing something wrong, with no added fuel, is NOT the way to solve the problem. Ive got a sakigt computerlight mod, you will not throw ANY codes ANYmore! Just put the piece of tape I send you over the dash where the light is and BAM. No more error codes!! Woo-hoo!

Tried your mod by removing the tubing. I don't have stage I or any boost controller, etc. I have noticed an improvement. The engine seems to rev strong and not loose much at the shift points. No error messages. Just using a stop watch and the speedo, the 0-60 times are around six seconds or less. I know this isn't scientific data, but it is encouraging. I have the autostick. Of course the Roadrunner on the hatch, gives a little extra boost.

For those of you who may be a bit squeamish about this minor mod, rest assured that the A/F ratio is not affected. I do have an A/F gauge, and it still runs pig rich at WOT. It also runs in the green under any kind of acceleration, so you should have nothing to worry about. BTW, I am NOT running a MBC, as it really didn't help with the Stage 1.

Let me clarify: Running stock boost and removing the tube should be alright. Running around town at 18psi and spiking at 21 is the problem. No one gets the code running stock boost so thats not the issue.
Id just hate to see people throw a piston over a penny mod.

some of you need to disconnect the batt. for this mod to work as their computer has remembered how they drive and when disconnecting the hose the computer doesn't what to do so it gives you a p1188,
As far as the 18 to 21 lbs of boost even though I run it and have been doing so for the last 3 months i don't recomend you do that, 17 around town is fine and 19 to 20 will work whenever you want it I understand the eng was tested before production to 24lbs of boost. and 3 turbo shops have agreeded with me . In the first month i did get the eng lite about 10 times. now it is rare,BUT DO GET ONE ONCE IN A WHILE. and that's the way it is.

You should say that kind of thing on page one...where everyone reads it. Running that high of boost without reading A/F is a nono. More boost needs more fuel and the SRT owners are finding this out the hard way. Two have already fried their engine. I returned my boost back to stock levels after my BC started acting up and peaked at 18. Im uninstalling the thing until I get Stage 2. Until then, an exhaust will have to get me by performance wise. I would say, in the very least, invest $300 into bigger injectors. No sense in blowing up a 23K+ vehicle over a $300 investment....
