OK here it is and i am not telling anyone to do this but it does work.
First you need a boost controler, Set it where ever you want 15 , 17, or higher if you like. I am running 18 on the street everyday, and have been for the last 60 days. will go to 20 to 21 when needed. The black hard hose just before your throdle body has an elect air temp, and a rubber/plastic hose attached to it ,disconnect the rubber hose, you can plug the fitting if you want to dont plug the hose, just lay it next to the fitting.( now start increasing the boost on your controller as you make from dead stop/ to floor the throdle test. !!!Thats the way it is!! if you are driving at 30 mph and ease up to 60 your boost will go to the max and you will get P1188, but if you are doing 30 and you floor if to 60 you will not get P1188 you get get a blast of power you didn't know you had. if you have any questions U cac e mail me or call me by phone amx1397@aol.com 954-336-3405 if I can help I will for the car not the money/ thats the way it is |

Uh, I may be wrong (as I usually am) but I think most people are only getting the P1188 at part throttle not at WOT. Thus I don't see how this is curing anything. I currently have my mbc pressure source comming from the manifold and then straight to the wga. I've gotten the dreaded code twice in 1500 miles and both times it was when I had hit about 13psi @ about 75% throttle.

if u r only running 13 lbs of boost and u remove the hose u will NEVER get p1188 as i ran for 7 months at 14 lbs without p1188 and when i raised to 18 i only get it at part throdle. so what does this solve i can go faster than you and get better mpg
for the car not the money and that's the way it is

the stage 1 pcm will not set this code even at 21 psi boost!! you may have to trick the tip and map sensors into reading something different but that will probably make the car run like **** at idle and may not even start.

14.86 in 1/4 mile and stock exhaust, amx1397 intake, stock boost then set boost controler at 18 lbs of boost, I ran two runs the track, 1 60 ft 2.2 and 14.86 in the 1/4, 2 run set boost at 21. 60 ft. 1,8 then car burped and ran a 15.02. ran a guy who runs 13.66 I won the first and lost the second. his question was did i put a v8 in that thing . afterwords he could not beleave it was a 4 cyl. and said he runs 13.66 in the 1/4, even though he still has his nova he now owns a gt cruiser HE WENT DOWN AND BOUGHT ONE.
and that the way it is, I tell you how to do it, and you still have XXXXX to say. you sound just like all the people I know that own chevys, QUOTE there the fasest, there the best, and just because the break all the time, is to keep up the economy... Be happy with a little information that others want to share with you if you don't want to use it that is up to you HAPPY CRUISEN IN WHAT EVER YOU HAVE TO CRUISER IN,or on.

Yup, you're faster than me. Congratulations!!
I'll try not to question any more information posted since it seems to have been rude of me to do so. I still think I'll pass on this mod. I'm just not comfortable boosting 18 to 21 psi until I add more fuel to the mix. Thanks for sharing. Aloha, Mark |

We never learn without questions and we have that right to ask as much as needed, And maybe your right, so if I blow my eng I will be the first to let all know not to do what I did but, as of now I'm having a hella of a time with all the so called fast cars, and loveing it. as far as the way the car runs at ldle it same as when new there are no running problems, no falling flat as when the hose is connected the car runs like new oh it is new only 8000 miles on it.
that's the way it is.

If I understand what you guys are doing, you are disconnecting the Throttle Inlet Pressure tap (the TIP sensor is remote-mounted). Not sure why that would make the car any faster, and the MAP Overboost P-code would still trip if you ran the boost up too high. Hmmm...

Hey amx, I hope I didnt start a war. I am not using a BC, just Stage 1. Should I be using one for this mod.? The car is running no differant than when I got it except when I hit the go peddle. And it flys! I have gone WOT, and drive to work in "normal mode" and no codes. I want to thank you for the information, I read and listen before I do anything, and try to sort out the BS from the god stuff. Just as a sat and watched the posts on Stage 1 before I ordered mine.
