Angry cross treaded plug

The further saga: a crossed threaded plug... could it leak and cause a misfire code? what happens if/when you get the plug out? can you put another one in or do you need to replace the head? How do I trust the mechanic who did this? Any advise is appreciated!!!

You may need a helicoil insert to be installed.

How do you trust the mechanic?...you don't. Any mechanic who doesn't losely thread sparkplugs before going after them with a wrench should not get your busines. He should know that he is working on an aluminum head and exercise proper caution.

I have had the experience of blowing a plug out of an aluminum head. Not fun. I had a heli coil installed and it has worked great for several years now. Not very hard to install at all. Good luck.
