Default PT GT Mopar BOV installed - not so loud?

Sorry for being an idiot but I just wanted to (hopefully) prolong the life of my turbo so I installed the Mopar BOV with correct placement and everything. Now this is a 2004 PT GT autostick and I know it wouldn't go off all the time because you step on the gas all the time but it does go off when you release it.

Problem is mine is not that loud compared to the one I see on youtube on PTs or SRTs. I can hear it inside the car or when the windows is down and when you actually drive by a person but not loud enough to hear within 10-15 meters.

I did put RTV on both sides of the gasket and making sure there are no leaks but I made sure that no holes where covered.

Did I do something wrong?

nope, your fine. the atx has a more silent bov than the mtx because the rpm does not drop as low inbetween shifts. the mtx bov will always be more loud.

Oh thank God!

Well, I had my wife video a drive by and when I am about to make the first pass on the other side of the building, we heard the BOP go off and this was approx 30-40 meters.

Thank you! I am pretty much satisfied!

Btw, is this good with my stock 04 PT GT H.O. and no need for any modification? Any performance gains?

I believe this replaces the stock intake of the turbo, right? If any gains I would purchase it.

Thanks! This whole mod thing is all new to me!

I wonder if there will be a huge difference if I use autostick?

Do a search on Airbox mod. You'll also find detailed instructions at PT Crew. This is said to be the most effective intake mod with stock turbo and will run you around $40!

No gain, in fact you'll lose torque. KLCruiser is right as the airbox mod is the best way to go unless you are going big turbo.

Thanks KLCruiser and Mean Green.

Now you got me on that airbox mod. I saw the how-to and I actually told myself: "I will not touch anything that is not a computer or server hardware!"

About the CAI, I am still having doubts if I would get it. The site claims to have some gains but you guys are more experienced

I'd rather pay you to do the mod for me but unfortunately, I am in lonely Jacksonville, Florida.

I'm a little far away, British Columbia Canada! There's a few guys here and over at PT Crew in your area though.

why would you put a mopar bov on over the stock bov? i put a k&n cold air intake on and the sound of the bov drove me crazy. i could not find out what the sound was. i later found out. i have always heard the turbo spooling up and i definitely love that sound. yeah, it burns in two gears already. i want an upgrade exhaust system and a chip to increase performance. any suggestions. i put some sweet 18 inch rims black with an iridescent strip to match my blue cruiser.
