Check your gas cap. A poorly sealed cap can trigger the check engine light.

your vehicle should have set a history code.if tightning the gas cap did not fix the problem you need to have a reputable dealer with the latest drb scanner look into it. it should be under warranty

Hey!
Byron's car care.
Who's running the shop now?
It's been a while since I was down to the "Land-o-Goshen".
Byron Roth was planning to retire and neither of his techs wanted to purchase the business from him.

BTW, we have a large PT club in the Elkhart area, if you're interested in PT fellowship.

To Craig:
Byron's C C is correct. If the MIL is lit, you have codes to read. Sometimes a pending code will trip the light. They will not read on the odometer, but a scanner will read them. I've tripped some pending codes for misfire during my initial nitrous tuning at the drag strip.
They are easy to read and clear with a scan tool.
Rememer, the odometer test will only read engine/emission codes. There are hundreds of codes for body, trans, abs, etc...

I use the OTC-4000Enhanced.
http://tools.batauto.com/index.php?c...on=show_detail

I also use the BDM combo scope/scanner.
It's around $2K.
http://www.bsecorp.com/diagnostic/diagnostic1.html

I also use an older Snap-On MT2500 scanner.

You may want to consider finding a tech who has invested several thousand in diagnostic tools and training, rather than fumble with a $200 generic code reader.

The gas cap did that to my wife's GT. Got the check engine light and no codes, the DC field rep told my dealer to change the gas cap and we haven't had an issue since.
