I installed the BTG intake a week or so ago, tonight I heard a high piched whistle coming from the engine. It only did it at WOT and happen for the first tonight. When I got home I popped the hood to see if any lines disconnected. Everything connected. Has anyone with the BTG or any aftermarket intake have this sound?

Not sure if this is related, but I noticed a high pitched whistling when I did a mod to my PT's intake. I revoved the silencers and drilled four holes through the fender wall just under the intake. Next day on a cold morning commute I noticed a high pitched whistle coming from the engine compartment. Checked it out, figured it had to be because of the wire mesh covering the holes in the wheel well. The whistle stopped and I have not heard it since. Reading your post I thought it might be from modifying the intake. Just a thought.

If you search around on the site you'll find a few posts on this one. Some of them are from me
. That gents is the turbo making its magic. Some can live with it other's can't. I actually like it now...But was uneasy at first. The noise should be audible as you approach 4000 RPM and get progressively louder until 6000 RPM (or until you shift). It should be loud enough to be noticed from inside the cabin with the windows rolled up but should not drown out a conversation. If it is much louder check your connections to the intake and make sure that you have a good fit around the turbo. If all is snug then you should be fine.

nbr10, I know with an intake you can hear the turbo spooling up but this was a different sound. It was like there was a Picollo Pete in my engine. Didn't go WOT on the commute in this morning, maybe I'll get a chance later.

If the noise you are discribing is similar to air being blown over a pop bottle then we are talking about the same noise.
If you put the stock airbox and silencers back in the noise will be all but gone. Then start to remove the silencers one at a time and you will see the noise gets louder. Then when you remove the Plastic pipe that runs from the turbo to the airbox you will see the biggest increase in noise. There is a HUGE Silencer in that pipe. If you want further proof remove all of the piping and leave the turbo open. WARNING: Do not drive like this. Then start the engine and rev it. you will hear the same noise (granted it is much louder under load) There is another high pitched noise which can occur if there is a kink in the breather hose that runs from the intake to the valve cover. This sounds more like a high pitched chirp which occurs at about 2 second intervals. This sound will happen whenever the engine is running though. Hope this helps to ease your mind

I've been meaning to ask this same question. At WOT as I am pushing past 4000rpm the sound changes from the whooshing of the turbo and I get this high pitched sound...this freaked me out, as I wasn't sure it was supposed to be there (I have never owned a turbo vehicle inthe past). It's been doing that as long as I've had the car, before Stage 1...

With stock boost settings this noise will NOT be nearly as noticeable. The pt with upped boost will drown out the turbo sound of other stock turbo cars or even lightly modded ones. This sound is gorgeous and music to any turbo enthusiasts ear...just sit back and watch the honda boys stare.

only at WOT can i hear this very high pitched noise and it starts at very low rpm ! It is just my turbo making power and it is a product of my K&N typhoon intake! After testing a stage 1 at the black party I know the stage 1 is faster than mine but not by much!!
