Good find I am finding out this product is pretty good, makes very good noise and power and has given me no problems! At full throttle it makes a little high pitch turbo noise to boot!!

Thanks, how much louder is it than the stock one. I'm not into noise, I had to take the BTG muffler off cause it was too loud for me.

At more than half throttle it is about three times the decibels of a stock unit which I found to be very quiet even with the silencers (2) removed. At 1/4 throttle is almost stock quiet and cant be heard if you have on an FM station. I ran it first time and noticed the difference. Wife drove it easier and said it was slightly noiser but ok for her sensitive ears. Daughter drove it and thought it was stock cause she only uses very tiny throttle openingings! At WOT it does make as much or more noise that the BTG as both have big tubes and no silencers. I think it is a good trade off if you want more power. On cruises it sounds very stock like at anything uner 80 mpg till you floor it and then it sounds nice just above wind decibels with moon roof closed!

Thanks

I think that I can live with that. I want to get the airbillster and try that also. Also is there a hookup for the pvc hose that was there on the stock box?

Steve

I just ordered this, and it should be here by next week. I will let you know how it performs. BTW, I ordered the blue one.

Let us know how U like it it is so hard to know how someone else will respond! Wish I had a color choice and if you could let me know if it has calif emissions number so I can get back to K&N for the plate and get my dyno slips!

Steel

The intake just came in. The Carb number is D-269-27. I'll put it on in a bit.

Okay, the intake is in. The downside. I hear all kinds of noises that weren't there before, and the blue pipe color doesn't match my car. The upside. I now hit 13-15 psi spikes on boost. The car moves a lot easier and is running cooler, normally my water temp gage is at 180 or so, now it's between 175 and 180, that I like. The noise I can live with, it's not that bad,not bad at all. As far as horse power gains, I dunno, but the car is running cooler and spools up quicker, most likely because the baffles are gone. I also put fuel filters in the PCV lines. WOW, I didn't know that much oil was being ingested by the engine.

Day 2, the noise is unobtrusive, I barely notice it, the wife did when I punched it as we were heading up the highway, but other than that, no more comments from her. As an aside, I listen to music (jazz the old stuff)a lot via my home audio system, so loud droning noises bother the hell out of me. The K&N as far as noise goes is a keeper. I just have to see how it compares to the AirRaid, that's coming in this week.

in general a lot of people complain that K&N is overpriced...unless it is a true CAI you can get the same numbers out of less expensive alternatives. When you get any intake with the PVC hose attatchment, you MUST get a catch can, and put it in line. Our cars create an abnormal amount of blow-by, especially with raised boost. If you don't put this in, you will get substantial oil buildup in the charger and all the way through the intake tract...
